BEFORE SACRAMENTO
Leaving the camps
Iu-Mien families left the refugee camps in Thailand and began new lives in Sacramento.
ARRIVAL
A church reaches out
A local English-speaking church and its pastors welcomed the Christian Iu-Mien refugees to worship. They helped foster the spiritual growth and meet the needs of the Iu-Mien Christians.
EARLY 1980s
Our church is formed
That focused care led directly to the founding of First Iu-Mien Church of Sacramento. The first full Iu-Mien language worship service was held on May 6, 1984.
NOW
Home at last
On November 3, 2023, we moved into our permanent church home, where we continue to worship and serve together.
