Our History

The establishment of the First Iu-Mien Church of Sacramento is tied directly to the arrival of the Iu-Mien refugees. As the Iu-Mien people settled into Sacramento after leaving the refugee camps in Thailand, a local English-speaking church and its pastors began to reach out.

They ministered to the refugees’ immediate needs and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This focused effort led directly to the formation of the Iu-Mien church.

The First Iu-Mien Church of Sacramento has proudly served the greater Iu-Mien community since the early 1980s.
